6th graders did an interdisciplinary activity of Music and English. They listened to a song called “Who’ll win the argument” by Kabalevski, which had no lyrics! The students had to imagine what was happening in the song, and finally they discovered that a song with no lyrics can also explain a story!
We started by listening the song with their eyes closed…
Then, in pairs, they had to decide what was happening in the song: the story, the characters, the place where it was happening, what were they talking about, etc.
Afterwards, they had to do mimics representing their story. It was very important to do mimics only when their character was “talking” with the music!
It was also important to think about an ending for the story, because all stories have an ending…
